AMANDA
Carer
Hi, I’m Amanda and I’m a proud member of Paula's Angels. I was born in England and grew up in Wales, but I've lived here, in the Illawarra since emigrating here when I was 12. I like to think I’ve absorbed all the best parts of both! I have an awesome husband, two wonderful grown-up kids, and one very beautiful granddaughter. I worked as a bookkeeper for more than 20 years, but when a long-term client was diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disease I slipped naturally into the role of carer. I still do some bookkeeping in my "other life" but I've found my niche in offering support to others. I absolutely love it, helping others makes my own life so much richer. Although I'm quiet, I am a people person through and through, and I thrive on being able to offer support and friendship. In my spare time you will find me either enjoying time with my family, or in the great outdoors. The best is when I can combine these two loves. I am most at home when I'm in the bush, my passion being bushwalking, canyoning and multi-day hiking, exploring the wild, beautiful and untamed Australia.
Heather
Carer
Hi, I'm Heather. I'm 48 years young. I enjoy arts and crafts, cooking, and a little bit of gardening and music. (I don't mind having a bit of a singalong) I have a background in childcare and beauty therapy and have worked as a support worker for 18 months. I have a strong bond with my family, and with everyone's busy lives, quality time is important to me. I'm a bit of an open book, and I believe in honesty. I will always strive to give my participants my all and help them to the best of my ability.
